Together with the Centerville City Beauiful Commission,  the Public Works Department is responsible for designing, installing and maintaining trees, shrubs, turf, groundcover, and flowers located along public roadways and City-owned facilities including Stubbs Park with the assistance of crew members.  For more information on the City Beautiful Commission, click here. Arbor Day
Celebrated in late April, the City of Centerville Mayor Mark Kingseed, City Staff and the Centerville City Beautiful Commission involve Centerville third graders in an Arbor Day Ceremony.  Students plant 9 trees in a selected location along - one for each elementary school:

The Public Works Crews prepare the planting area by pre-digging holes for the trees and completes the plantings following the Ceremony.

Leonard E. Stubbs Memorial  Park & Centerville Community Amphitheater located at 255 W. Spring Valley Rd. is owned and maintained by the City of Centerville.   The Public Works Department oversees the lawn mowing and landscaping as well as the installation and maintenance of playground and recreational equipment, trails and bridges, shelters, and parking lot.  Shelters are available on a first come basis; however, the Amphitheater may be rented by contacting the Public Works Department at 428-4782.  Please read more about how to rent the Amphitheater and the events at Stubbs Park.
